PANEL DISCUSSION WITH OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC MEDALISTS

Join us on Saturday April 29th at 4:00pm for a unique and incredible opportunity to hear from a group of Olympic and Paralympic Athletes and Coaches. 

These much sought after public speakers will be in Winnipeg for a limited time and have agreed to participate in a special guest talk. Mark your calendars and sign up now – because this is one you do not want to miss.

    • Free for all Athletics MB members and attendees at the Para Development Clinic.

PANEL MEMBERS INCLUDE, 
Sami-Jo Small, 
a 3 time Olympian (2 Gold and 1 Silver medal) a 5 time World Champion with the Canadian Women’s National Hockey team, and a co-founder of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
Sami was also Javelin and Discus thrower, and competed in the NCAA for Stanford University.

Billy Bridges, a 6 time Paralympian, (1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze) and a 4 time World Champion with the Canadian Men’s Sledge Hockey team. 
Billy is also a National Champion in Javelin and Discus and is currently training at the Athletics Canada East High Performance Hub.

Colin Mathieson, a 4 time Paralympian and a 2 time Bronze medalist at the IPC World Championships in Athletics. 
Colin is also a registered Social Worker, working with Deer Lodge Centre.

Robert Ellchuk, a 5x British team coach for Para World Championships and a 3x British team coach for Paralympic Games, with numerous athletes having been finalists and medal winners at all levels of British track and field. Rob is a current coach with Flying M’ Athletic Club as well as the University of Manitoba, and was a member of the Manitoban Bisons men’s track and field team that was recently inducted into the Canada West Hall of Fame. 


In addition to this great session, members are reminded that Flying M’ Athletic Club is hosting a Para Development Clinic on Friday April 28th and Saturday April 29th. 

There are opportunities for Athletes, Coaches and Officials to learn and develop their skills in a fun, safe environment with amazing experts.

Athlete Try-It sessions are open to ALL participants and NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!  There will be opportunities to try a variety of track and field activities customized for each attendee’s disability and ability level.  All day-time sessions are free to attend AND include free access to the Panel Presentation!
