Athletics Manitoba is sad to announce that Michael Kananoja has decided to step away from his position as Programs Manager. He will be moving on to a new opportunity with Golf Canada, as the First Tee Manager for the Prairies. His last day with Athletics Manitoba will be Wednesday, Dec 21st.
Michael has worked tirelessly over the past 2 years, helping our association navigate the challenges of the pandemic, our return to sport process and took the lead on our first full season back in action. Throughout his time with us, he contributed so much to the development of Athletics and our organization. His positive energy has not only been an asset to the association, but has made him a wonderful colleague to all and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with him over the years.
While we are certainly sad to see him go, we are excited for this new opportunity. On behalf of our staff, coaches, officials and our Board of Directors, we would like to sincerely thank Michael for everything he has done over the last 2 years. We truly wish him all the best, both in his new role and in life!
We will begin the hiring process in the new year, after a much needed rest.
