2017 AO Cross Country Championship

This past weekend we hosted our annual Cross Country Championship at Morrison Meadows in Bracebridge, ON. We saw nearly 900 athletes come out and compete for medals despite the wet and slippery conditions. The day kicked off with the Ontario Masters 5km race, where we saw athletes aged 35-85 years competing against one another. This was followed by our bantam, midget, youth, junior and senior men and women’s divisions, as well as a community run which took place mid-day and was open to anyone.

We want to give special thanks to our hosts, Muskoka Algonquin Runners, FITT Events, and Morrison Meadows for having us, we could not have put on the event without the use the of their facility. Additionally, a thank you to the officials and volunteers, as such an event could not take place without their support. Lastly, we want to thank the clubs, for training and providing us with such talented athletes who were eager to compete.

We would also like to extend congratulations to the Newmarket Huskies Track Club for winning the overall Cross Country Club Champion title. The full list of results can be found here.
