Andre De Grasse (Speed Academy) from Markham, Ontario, was named 2016 Canadian Press male athlete of the year after being voted the winner of the Lionel Conacher Award. Among the 3 finalists include Sidney Crosby (Pittsburgh Penguins) and High Jumper, Derek Drouin (Sarnia Athletics) from Corunna, Ontario.
Some of Andre’s accomplishments include his Olympic triple medal haul with a silver in the 100m, and bronze medals in the 200m and 4x100m Relay (Canadian Record).
