Athletics Nova Scotia announces FINAL 2022 Canada Games Team

July 14, 2022 - Halifax, NS – After a year delay, the 2022 Canada Games are back in 2022.   The Games are fast approaching, and will be held in August in Niagara.   Athletes from across the province showed their very best in running, throwing and jumping this past weekend at the Athletics NS Track and Field Canada Games Trials Meet.  The event, held in Stellarton at Pioneer Coal Athletics Facility, brought together over 275 track and field athletes of all ages.  Those competing in the Canada Games Age Category chased standards to be named to the 2022 Canada Games Team.

“After a thorough selection process, I am thrilled with the athletes named to this team. We have a great array of athletes from Yarmouth to Cape Breton and everywhere in between. A mix of new and returning athletes named to the team will bring great competition and enthusiasm to the team.  We have medal threats across all event groups and the potential to have one of the better Canada Games Nova Scotia has ever had in Athletics is high”. Rich Lehman, Head Coach
