Athletics Manitoba is pleased to announce that Julia Loparco will be joining the association as our new Development Manager.
Julia comes to us from New Brunswick, where she has spent the last number of years working for Athletics New Brunswick and Run New Brunswick. She has a wide range of experiences in Athletics, including time spent as an athlete, coach, administrator, meet director and learning facilitator.
She started her time with Athletics New Brunswick as a summer staff, acting as their Run Jump Throw Wheel Coordinator. She then moved into the full-time role of Director of RJTW & Intro Programs, finally transitioning most recently into the role of Executive Director in 2020.
Her past experiences will be invaluable as she now takes on the portfolio of Development Manager here in Manitoba.
Her first day in the office is scheduled for Monday September 25th which will see us throw her headfirst into a busy week with our first event of the 2023-2024 season the Milk Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, September 27th, quickly followed up with our Hall of Fame Launch night on Friday, September 29th.
