ATHLETICS ONTARIO APPOINTS MELISSA JOHNSTONE AS  MEDIA RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

TORONTO, Ontario – July 5, 2017

 

Athletics Ontario (AO) today announced the appointment of Melissa Johnstone to the role of Media Relations and Communications Coordinator.

Johnstone’s experience in brand management, marketing and social media positions her well to promote athletics across the province.

Prior to joining AO, Johnstone worked as a social media marketing consultant, producing content for small businesses. She has also served as an event management consultant at MetLife Stadium. Having completed an internship with Rugby Canada and having served as the social media lead for Laurentian University’s athletics department, she is looking forward to once again working in the sport sector.

Johnstone is a graduate of the Sports Administration program at Laurentian University. She is an avid runner and has a passion for photography.

“We are thrilled to welcome Melissa to the team,” said Executive Director, Ross Ste-Croix. “With the quality of athletes and programming we currently have in the province, there is tremendous potential to build our brand and our membership and I’m confident that Melissa has the skills and experience needed to help us reach our goals.”
