#1 Request for Proposal - Photo Timing Service & Announcing at Athletics Ontario Championships due Monday February 8th, 2016

Athletics Ontario is currently looking to contract out the photo timing and announcing responsibilities at this year’s 2016 AO Championships events, which will be held throughout the province. We are looking for brand consistency when it comes to the delivery of our meets, and are encouraging all applicants to take a look at the Request For Proposal by Monday, February 8th, 2016.

#2 RBC Training Ground - Funding, Resources, Coaching & Trip to 2016 Rio Olympics applications due Thursday February 25th

Continuing their well-established commitment to Canadian athletes, RBC launched its RBC Training Ground yesterday. The program will offer a series of regional workout events designed to help sport officials uncover athletes with Olympic podium potential. Athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 are encouraged to enter, and will be asked to execute a series of workouts that will assess their speed, power, strength and endurance.

Up to ten athletes will be identified at each of four regional events to receive additional assistance in the form of funding, resources, coaching and/or mentorship. Four top performers will also receive a trip to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to help fuel their passion and expose them to the Olympic experience from a competitor’s perspective. #3 Reminder to Register - Indoor Combined Events Championships with Prep Meet deadline Friday February 5th

This Sunday, Athletics Ontario will host the Indoor Combined Events Championships with Prep Meet in conjunction with Etobicoke Track Club. This event is the first AO meet of 2016 and will take place at the Toronto Track and Field Centre on the campus of York University. While the registration deadline has passed, we are continuing to accept late registration until this Friday, February 5th, at 3:00pm. # 4 Fast Approaching - Youth Senior Champs, BMJ Relay & Race Walk Champs with (ON vs. QC) Midget Dual Meet entry deadline Monday February 8th

The second AO Championships meet of 2016 will be here in no time! On February 13th and 14th, Athletics Ontario will host the Youth Senior Championships, BMJ Relay and Race Walk Championships with (ON vs. QC) Midget Dual Meet. The entry deadline for this meet is Monday, February 8th, 2016. Meet details are easily accessible here, and you can get a leg up on payment and registration now by clicking on Trackie.
