NTL Circuit: Speed River New Balance Inferno Track and Field Festival

Athletes Prepare for Selection Trials; Hannah sets new record for Canadian 10,000m

The Speed River New Balance Inferno Track and Field Festival took place in Guelph, Ontario over the weekend. The fourth instillment of the National Track League (NTL) circuit, the Inferno brought out the best in Canadian athletes.

Canada had a strong showing in the women’s 10,000m race with both Rachel Hannah and Natasha Wodak finishing first and second respectively. Wodak, the Canadian 10,000m record holder watched Hannah achieved a new Canadian record with a time of 33:05.49.

AO Brand Ambassador and long distance runner out of the University of Toronto put together an impressive performance at the Inferno. Shortening her distance of 1,500m to the 800m, Gabriela Stafford ran a 2:03.38 becoming one step closer to seeing her dreams come true, attending the Olympics.

The NTL circuit will resume July 15 at the TrackTown Classic in Edmonton, Alberta.
