Throwers in Ontario have continued to break provincial records this year. It started on January 14 with Josh Linington, of the Brantford Track and Field Club. He broke a 10 year old U15, boy’s weight throw record with a performance of 15.68m. Two weeks later, at the AO Combined Events Championships and Prep 2, his teammate, Alexa Windle, broke the U15 women’s weight throw record with a performance of 15.73. This breaks Trinity Tutti’s record of 15.56 set in 2014.

Most recently, Brittany Crew travelled to Ohio to compete in the Akron Invitational. She won the Women’s Shot Put with a distance of 17.91 and set a new Senior Women’s and Espoir (U24) record. This performance now places her in 8th place on the IAAF standings and is only 10cm off of the Canadian Indoor Shot Put record set 5 years ago by Julie Labonté.
Congratulations to all athletes and their strong season so far.
