The Toronto WMA 2020 Championships Bid Committee has submitted a formal bid to host the 2020 World Masters Championship in Toronto.
For 11 days, Toronto would host a thrilling track and field competitions for athletes 35+ years old including racing events in cross country running, race walking, and road running. The host venues for the Championships include: Varsity Stadium, Toronto Track and Field Centre, York Lions Stadium, the Toronto Islands, and Centennial Park.
Perth, Australia will host the Championship in November 2016 and Malaga, Spain set to host the 2018 Championships. The Bid Committee hopes to bring the Championships back to Toronto 45 years after the city hosted the first World Masters Championships in 1975.
Selection of the successful 2020 Candidate City will take place at the WMA General Assembly in Perth, Australia on November 3rd, 2016.
