HUGE Success for Ontario Athletes @ Pan American Cross Country Cup Mar 4, 2016

1-2-3 for MacDougall, Ghazarian & Gollish at the Panamerican Cross Country Cup

Our Athletes were incredibly successful in Caraballeda, Venezuela last weekend (March 4th, 2016) at the Panamerican Cross Country Cup!

JUNIOR Women:

Bringing home a gold and silver medal, Canada’s Branna MacDougall of Kingston, Ont. (Club: Physi-Kult Kingston), (21:31.33) and Madelaine Ghazarian of Cambridge, Ont. (Club: Speed River TFC), (21:31.72) placed 1st and 2nd in the women’s junior 6km race. Their placings secured a Canadian victory, first overall for the junior women’s team. Also in the junior women’s race Christina Sevsek of Surrey, B.C., (22:37.19) finished 5th, and Danielle Josinett of Cobourg, Ont. (Club: Durham Dragons), (23:25.58) finished 9th.

SENIOR Women:

Bringing home a silver medal, Sasha Gollish of Toronto, Ont. (Club: UTTC) (37:53.23) placed 3rd in the senior women’s 10km race. Lisa Brooking of Orillia, Ont. (Unattached), (38:12.08) placed 5th, Laura Desjardins of Tiny, Ont. (Club: Newmarket Huskies), (39:11.38) placed 12th, and Julie-Anne Staehli of Lucknow, Ont. (Club: Physi-Kult Kingston), (39:57.56) placed 16th.


JUNIOR Men:

Canada’s men’s junior team finished second overall in the men’s junior 8km race with Cameron Linscott of Kingston, Ont. (Club: Physi-Kult Kingston), in (26:38.66) in 4th place, Ehab El-Sandali of Toronto, Ont., (Club: Etobicoke TFC) (27:06.83) in 7th place, Mitchell Ubene of Tecumseh, Ont., (Club: Windsor Legion TFC), (27:40.90) in 14th place, and Benjamin Workman of Kingston, Ont. (Club: Speed River TFC), (28:05.77) in 16th place.

SENIOR Men:

In the men’s senior 10km race Nicholas Falk of Windsor, Ont. (Club: University of Windsor), (32:42.30) was the top Canadian placing 10th. Evan Esselink of Courtice, Ont. (Club: Durham Dragons), (33:42.82) placed was 15th, and Ryan Cassidy of Grande-Digue, N.B., did not finish.
